Inspired Photos from Saul Leiter
I chose Saul Leiter as my inspiration for my photo series. What i really like about his photos is the following. I like his use of windows as well as reflection. He also focus' on rain, snow, etc. that makes the photo have a strong composition to it. He has good use of color and really focus' on how each photo is set up.
ICA MUSEM
Photo Analysis |
The artist I photographed was Sarah Sze. The title of the work is called "Hidden Relief". It was created in 2001 and is made out of recycled objects such as paper, cups, and toothpicks. The size of the sculpture is a quarter of a wall and the setting is in the corner of the ICA museum. Its an additive sculpture due to all the mixed media added to it.
The elements and principles of design that this art piece contains is line, shape, color, texture, form, and space. The elements were arranged to show how variety can come together to create unity. I like this piece because of the light, and how it follows together and how it flows with the shape of the wall as well. The title does match the piece in my opinion because some people can find relief in creating art work. |
I am going to do a photo series inspired on this. What I'm choosing to focus on, is the use of light. Even though theres more to this sculpture the light is what caught my attention. I'm going to take photos of people or objects that have alot of character but have the light(s) be the main focus.
