Best Photo
- This is the best photo I've taken over the summer, in my opinion. This is a picture of my best friend of 9 years. We tried to make this photo set in the 70's. It was taken in front of a mechanic shop next to her house.
- The photographic elements and principles of design that are present in this photo are the following. This photo somewhat follows "The rule of thirds". I think this is a strong photo because of the contrast in each color, and how she is located in the middle of the photo. - This piece is important to me because not only is this one of my stronger photos, but she is also my best friend. -There are some things I could do to improve this photo such as edit or somehow control the glares on the windshield of the van. |

Out of School Photos - Capturing Light
- I took this photo of a wine glass in the morning with natural daylight from a window.
- The light i photographed was coming in from the top right corner.
- The main focus of the photograph is off centered with light coming in from the corner, reflecting on parts of the glass, and this reflected on the cabinet.
- The shadows that help the light are coming from the background of the photo.

-The word that unifies my photo series is "Identity". Although it is not the identity of everyone I've taken photos of but rather my identity. What I mean by this is, they are part of how I was, currently am, and will become. All of these photos are of my friends, family, and pets and they play a huge part in my every day life. I chose to do this because I have photos with all of them, but not photos of them. I believe doing this shows more significance to each person. I focused more on the moment of each individual photo along with the composition.
In photo #5, I took a photo of my friend since middle school. What I focused on in this was that him laughing gives the photo personality. I also focused on the light and the shadows coming on to the picture. In photo #7 of my friend Alex, I focused more on the light coming in from the top right corner balancing out with the rest of the photo. I also paid attention to the leading lines in the photo.
